Evolve NY Charging stations

I am heading to Saratoga Springs on the way to Montreal. There is only an Evolve Ny fast charging Station in Saratoga. My Ford app says out of network. But that just means i would have to pay outside of the charging that Ford gives you gratis , correct ? I can still charge up there ,right ?

The ONLY charging you get for free is 250kWh at Electrify America. You have to use Plug and Charge, the FordPass app, or Public Charging in the car.

There are about a dozen charging networks that are part of the Blue Oval Charge Network. These work with FordPass or Public Charging, hitting the credit card on your Ford account.

Outside the network chargers, like Evolve NY, require you to either use their app, or pay with a credit card or Google Pay or similar.

If you have an adapter get off at exit 23N and plug into a Tesla charger at Stewart’s. If not, go to exit 17N and plug in at the DCFC at the Stewart’s up there, I forget which network they are but they will work for you.

Kind of confusing. I plugged into an Electrify America -Evolve NY charger in Kingston within the ford network but the evolve NY in Saratoga is not in network. So some evolve NY stations are in network and some aren’t? And being out of network just means there will be a charge in a CC or another app. It doesnt stop me from using ,correct?

All EVolve NY locations accept credit cards.

EV Connect locations can use a credit card, and I would guess the EV Connect app but I don’t know that for fact.

EA locations can use EA app if you have the EA plan or plug and charge with no app, P&C should work.

You can charge at any CCS chargers.

I have charged at the evolve NY charger in golden bridge, NY several times and have had no issues.

So heres the deal with evolve ny

If you see a charger that uses EV connect and isn't in EA, Plug and charge wont work. These chargers are also limited to 350amps and are older ABB hardware so I suggest avoiding them.

The newer EA "evolveNY" stations do accept Plug and Charge. In my experience the ford nav has 2 "chargers". One being an EA site and the other being the evolveNY. I don't know why but if there is a duplicate, its an EA.
