It is the battery that concerns me. Ford has never done a full BEV. 125,000 miles of zero worries is fine. If zero problems then there will not be any
I believe the only reason the ESP doesn't also cover the battery, is because its already covered by a separate 8 year, 100,000 mile warranty. This is almost the same length as the longest ESP you can purchase from Ford.

I believe the only reason the ESP doesn't also cover the battery, is because its already covered by a separate 8 year, 100,000 mile warranty. This is almost the same length as the longest ESP you can purchase from Ford.
Longest esp is 8 year 150,000 miles

Right, The only thing the ESP would do for battery is add 50k miles to the warranty. And there is still the chance that the ESP would cover the battery. The current ESP doesn't exclude it that I've seen except from someone on here saying they were told its not covered.

Yes I spoke with the customer service from Ford EST and they said that the battery won’t be covered after 100,000. Generally researching from there EV ANS Tesla batteries , this batteries are supposed to last more than 500 K. It would be too bad if the Ford battery dies after 100 K. They will not cover it.

As another point of reference, the official Ford ESP specifically excludes the "battery" which I have to assume means the HVB since it follows description of Hybrid.

Perfect! I'm OK with this not being covered under the ESP. Its good to see it official though.

I look at it this way. Any problems will show up by 100,000 miles. If nothing occurs then I should be fine for 500,000 miles

I think if the technology is right then yes it will not go bad. Between OTA and Ford moving all of their vehicles to electric then ABSOLUTELY

I think you are either wildly optimistic or insane. :) Automobiles just aren't built to last 500K miles, much less go that far without any repairs.

When discussing driverless taxis (which would be electric) the auto companies always address making the vehicles different so they can rebuild them at 200K miles.

We know from many Tesla owners that these batteries can go that far out. Even 500k. But there is always a bad apple and what if you are the one who got the bad apple tha spoils after factory warranty expires at 100k.
It would be nice to have some extra coverage of additional 25k or 50k after that but no market product covers that. So I guess we can’t do anything much. Thank you

You are 100% right. There are zero guarantees however we also know that like the vaccinations it does not cover 100% but you still have a great feeling that you won’t be sick. Sure some batteries will fail but most likely that will happen in the first 100,000 miles. I am willing to bet after a number of years ford will offer battery coverage over that period.

When I bought my first Ford back in 2006 tge ford warranty was only good for 50,000 miles. A few years later it was 75.000 then 100,000 and now 125,000. As Ford studies all of the data things will change. I have spent a LOT of time basically 2 years reading about BEV specifically Tesla. A battery is made up of cells. What happens in real life is that a battery does not fail. A cell may fail. Like a Christmas tree if one light goes out the rest are still on. What Tesla will do is trade out that single or group of cells that are roughly the size of a AAA battery and replace them. This is THE why a battery does not fail. Because a battery could be made up of say 100-500 cells. Tesla has 1000 cells in their batteries roughly. Ford is the same thing. If cells are going to have issues it will be in the first 100,000 miles. If a cell goes bad then that cell or series of cells will be replaced.

Does this make sense???
