This is my drive to work, car was in garage overnight at 25c, battery was 25c when leaving confirmed by obd car scanner.

(Edit, I checked again when arriving and the battery was still at 25c no conditioning was going on)

outside temp 25c

what’s going on?

Nothing, car runs great. Summer mileage is as good or even better than expected. HV health at 97% 6months in.

Like many people that are regulars on this form, we strive to understand every aspect of how the car operates.

Im really curious what that 8% represents.

Just a wild guess: you are reporting that the battery temperature remained stable. Perhaps the cooling pumps were running?

You're getting 4.8 mi/kWh on a pretty short (slightly downhill?) trip. Really wouldn't read too much into any of the usages on that short of a trip.

That said, wouldn't you expect the battery to be heating up as it was being used and charge was depleting? To keep the battery at 25C constant, that would require active cooling.

I'd be more concerned why the car is reporting 5% usage for Accessories. You used ~2 kwh total, so that means accessories used 100 wH in just 19 minutes. Your accessories are pulling 300 W of power?

To be fair, I understand the OPs curiosity and it’s a good thing. Perhaps @Mach-Lee could hop in with a quick answer? I’m sure it’s something obvious.

You didn't use much energy driving (you were going slow or downhill), so the other items will be larger percentages of the total. I'm actually not 100% sure how the exterior temp thing is calculated. It's an estimate of how much extra loss due to exterior temp (it's not a measurement). You're pretty close to ideal temp, so it should be a small amount of energy (it is in this case because your trip was very efficient).

12V idle draw is about 300W when the car on, so your math checks out perfect!

I don't bother to look at it until I drive at least 20 miles. Like @Mach-Lee said, the #'s don't jive.
