I'm having trouble using my EZpass device e.g., detectors on able to read the device. I have requested and tried a new reader, and the detectors still can not read. Has anybody else had this issue, if so what was the resolution?

Put it the in the area that looks spotted either left or right of the rear view mirror.

it will work without an issue

Yes, simple solution, also explained in the manual.

I'm trying to find this in the manual. Where is it located? I currently have the dives on the windshield behind the mirror. It does not work in this position.

My NTTA Toll Tag is placed under the rear view mirror just like my last several cars and I’ve never had an issue with it not reading. But maybe my tag is built a little different.

In addition to the dotted left and right glass areas, some (not all!) of the black plastic trim area is also transparent. It all depends on how much metal stuff is where, under that trim, to block or allow radio waves to pass through.

I have my EZ Pass on the right dotted wing, my Thinkware dash cam GPS sensor on the left dotted wing, and my Escort Passport radar detector (when I am outside of Virginia) right in the center right of the trim, just over the mirror... because I found that in that part of black trim location, there is mostly open air between the trim and the glass, unlike further left. See the pic below.

The problem has been resolved using the information you provide. Thanks for helping this older man. I sometimes find new technology a bit challenging. Happy battery draining.

I was also having a problem with my New York issued EZ-Pass transponder not registering when going across bridges etc. In the NYC area they charge a higher fare for cars with an EZ account but when the tag is not read. It is called a "mid-tier" rate. (for example if the bridge EZ rate is $6.55 the mid-tier rate is $8.36) I contacted NY EZ pass (1-800-333-8655) and after verifying that my tag was mounted by looking at photos, they are going to send me a tag that attaches to my license plate and will credit my account for the higher charges I paid.
The EZ representative said this problem is very commons with EVs including the Mach-E and Teslas.

Was it attached in the proper area, as noted in post #6?

No. It was not properly attached. I didn't check this forum before I contacted EZ Pass. I assume if it had been properly attached I would not have had the problem but I wanted poeple to know that a credit from EZ in NY would be available if they were over charged.
