I’m to the point now that I don’t give a sh*t anymore and have begun seeking out my next EV (spoiler alert, it’s NOT going to be a Ford). The @Ford Motor Company / Jim Farley broken promise on BlueCruise was the first and now MORE THAN TWO MONTHS to receive the adaptor is B.S. (note, I ordered the Lectron Vortex Plug | Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | 500A | 1000V from Lectron, so, hopefully Ford won’t screw me and make only their adaptor function with FordPass and Tesla DCFCs).

Are you serious?? When you bought your car, you knew you couldn't charge it on a supercharger. They've now made it so you can do that, and they're giving you the hardware to do it for free. Yet you're still complaining and won't buy another Ford. Really?

If waiting 2 months for your free adapter is the worst thing to happen to you this year you are living a charmed life.

All the Tesla chargers around me are V2 so I guess the adapter is completely useless for me unless I go on a long road trip. :(

I would add that Ford is ahead of EVERYONE else on this. I have a Bolt, you should monitor chevy owners, they are in the dark on it all, when if it will be available, is it free, how it will work. And many of the Bolt owners have been waiting years for a Blazer/Equinox to upgrade to and are all disappointed by that disaster of a rollout.

You missed the point. It’s the BlueCruise broken promise (was supposed to be November 2023 at the latest. Here we are about to enter March and NO BC And the current version that came with the MME I bought sucks.

I’m aware of ‘official’ statements as well as Farley’s podcast appearances and February for *opening* access to Tesla DCFC network was the expectation set. Now, *if* the adaptor ships in May (and if OTA & BC updates history is any guide) I’ll be blown away if the adaptor shows up in June. Half a year of “access” gone.

Farley continually expresses his aspiration to meet-or-exceed Tesla‘s OTA and customer experience with charging, but if you know people with Tesla’s like I do (half of my neighbors on two blocks near me have Teslas so I get updates from them often), I’m stunned by the volume of Tesla OTA updates, the seamless process they employ. Yes, Elon Musk underpromises, often never delivers, so there’s that. “Yet you're still complaining and won't buy another Ford. Really?” Yes, really.

Hi Mustang Mach-E Owners.

Starting today, Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E retail customers become the first of any non-Tesla automaker to gain access to Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.

The 15,000+ available Tesla Superchargers more than double customer access to reliable DC fast charging on the BlueOval Charge Network.

We’re saying thank you to our Ford EV customers by making the Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) available at no cost to new and existing customers enrolled in the BlueOval Charge Network through June 30, 2024. The Adapter is required to charge at upgraded Tesla Superchargers. You can reserve yours by visiting Ford.com/FastChargingAdapter

22824.PNG

Ordering an Adapter
1. From ford.com/FastChargingAdapter, log in to Ford Pass. The Fast Charging Adapter Reservation will be the first tile within the Connected Service Home Page.
2. Click on the ‘Reserve your adapter at no cost’ button to start the ordering process
3. Your shipping information will be pre-populated based on your Ford Pass account, just verify that all the information is accurate, update if needed, and click ‘Reserve’.
4. And that’s it! From there you will get a confirmation screen with helpful information on a forthcoming automated over-the-air update and a link to our FAQ Hub.
5. Additionally, you will receive confirmation email with a personalized link to check the status of your reservation.

Customers who are not yet enrolled in BlueOval Charge Network will be prompted to enroll before ordering their fast charging adapter.

Ford Pro customers will be contacted this Spring via mail or a Ford Pro account manager with instructions on how to order.

Locating and Activating Upgraded Superchargers
Ford customers can use the FordPass App, or in-vehicle SYNC 4 Charge Assist (soon to be 'Public Charging' App) to locate all chargers, including new Tesla Superchargers, just like before.

Integration to routing will come with a future over-the-air update.

Using a Fast Charging Adapter
1. Open your vehicle’s charge port door and lower the cover to reveal the fast charger inlet.
2. Attach the Fast Charging Adapter to the Tesla Supercharger cable by firmly pushing them together. You should hear a click when the cable is fully inserted.
3. Plug the Fast Charging Adapter into your vehicle.
4. With Plug & Charge is active, charging should begin automatically.
5. Stop the charge by pressing unlock button on vehicle charge port.
6. Remove adapter from charge port using silver release button on the top of adapter.
7. Detach adapter from Tesla Supercharger cord by pressing down the cable release tab.

BlueOval Charge Network
The BlueOval Charge Network, North America’s largest public charging network offered by an automaker, is a “network of networks” that provides Ford EV drivers with easy access to a variety of charging providers without the need for multiple apps and memberships.

With the addition of Tesla Superchargers, the BlueOval Charge Network currently has more than 126,000 chargers, including more than 28,000 fast chargers, with more being added every week.

The network provides one seamless stored payment account through the FordPass App, or Charge Assist (soon to be “Public Charge” App) in the vehicle’s touchscreen, that eliminates the need for onsite credit card use. Once owners have created an account, they can then select, activate, and pay for charging by using the FordPass App's “View Chargers” functionality.

Optimizing the Charging Experience
1. Precondition the vehicle while charging whenever possible to optimize battery range in hot or cold environments.
2. Set Departure Times in the FordPass App or in-vehicle screen to automatically heat or cool your vehicle’s interior for when you need it, drawing energy while plugged in to help save your battery for the road and warm the battery when it is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Turn cabin heat off while charging when possible and use heated seats and steering wheel (when equipped; not available on E-Transit) to reduce HVAC energy.
4. If snowing, remove all ice and snow from the vehicle before driving; try to keep driving speeds moderate and ensure tires are properly inflated.
5. When searching for chargers in the FordPass App, you can adjust your filters to make sure you’re searching for the charge station type that makes the most sense for your current need, whether it’s a Level 2 AC charger or Level 3 DC fast charger.

It took about 30 minutes of refreshing the page to finally get to the reservation page.
Mine is now reserved with an expected delivery in May 2024. I hope it doesn't end up with the same length delays as my Mach E order !!!

I have the BC 1.0 and it still works pretty well. And yes, I do use it.

Being pissed about your car not driving itself as well as you would like is very definitely in the category of "First world problems", but by all means move on to another manufacturer that has better hands free driving than your current bluecruise.

I don't mean to laugh but I want to know exactly who can use a Tesla Super Charger today?
I have used them already, at a site with Magic Docks. Mach E, Rivian and Hummer all work there.

For sure it’s first world problems, but it is a customer service pet peeve of mine:

If you say you’re going to do something on a set timeline, do it.

And if you’re unable to fulfill the above timeline, clear communication is required.

Say your plumber says they’ll show up on Tuesday. I expect him/her to show up on Tuesday. And if for some reason they aren’t able to make it, I expect a phone call on Monday, or Tuesday morning at the latest to let me know that.

It’s not that hard and yet unfortunately people don’t do this.

If they said November and now it’s almost March and we have ZERO communication on what the holdup is and what the new timeline is……. That’s horrible customer service.

Things can and do get delayed. What’s missing is the transparency and communication when they do.

This is a no win situation for Ford. Communicate a missed target date and they get eviscerated for missing. Communicate a new target date and they get eviscerated for setting unrealistic expectations in the first place. Communicate no target date and they get eviscerated for not being transparent.

Yes it's disappointing but there is nothing to be gained by Ford. Just look at the recent situation with the NACS adapter. People were KILLING Farley as recently as Monday of this week for an update that said he was testing the chargers and more info to come "soon". Everybody assumed that meant another delay and this would not hit in Spring. Now just 3 days later pre orders for adapters are open and Tesla chargers are available and guess what, people are bitching about speed to fulfill. Cannot win the customer service game. I don't blame them at all for their approach on BC.
