Hello all. I purchased a 48 hour FDRS license. I downloaded it, installed the driver for the J2534. When I open FDRS the first time network diag says everything passes. when i try to login, suddenly the FDRS server and activation server fail. I have tried with 39.6.8, then downloaded 37.4.7. Both version have done the same thing., It just tells me to connect to the network.

Perhaps their servers are down? They might be doing maintenance...?
I’m hoping that’s the case. If not I gotta call them Monday for a new license.

Hi Scottieboy; did you ever get this issue resolved. I just went to login and am having the same issue. I've tried the downgrade, reinstall,... with no luck.

Yes I was able to log in the next morning. Fords servers were down for maintenance at the time.

I spent upwards of an hour authenticating with FDRS yesterday as well. I don't know if it was the servers or if the FDRS client is just naturally trash.

Here's some tips I found:
  1. Select the non-EDIS non employee option (the one that pops up an internet browser authentication).
  2. After you login, if it immediately returns to the login screen with no error WAIT. I was re-logging in repeatedly when I just needed to wait 30 seconds for the javascript to complete.
  3. If the login still doesn't work, re-download the FDRS client from the link below the login screen (in the app, window below the login info) and re-install the client.
  4. If you still can't login, reboot the entire machine and try again.
  5. I wasn't able to login successfully with the other non-employee option, but if you switch the dropdown you have to close the ENTIRE CLIENT and restart before trying the other option. Just switching the dropdown and not restarting will prevent any future logins.
  6. DISABLE ANY SUSPEND OR SLEEP SETTINGS SO YOUR LAPTOP/COMPUTER NEVER TURNS OFF
Things to avoid:

  1. DO NOT reload your computer from scratch WITHOUT RELEASING YOUR LICENCE FIRST
    If you're like me and realize the FDRS client has an absolute trash network connection, you might just wipe your computer and start fresh. For all I know this helped, but I also had to buy a new license. You can call up support to get the license transferred but good luck lol. There is an option to release your license and then you can reuse it after you wipe your computer and re-install.
  2. DO NOT run anything else while you're using FDRS. It's janky as can be and will crash out for any excuse you give it.
  3. DO NOT wait more than 30 minutes for a "now configuring module" screen. It doesn't take any longer than 30 minutes. If it takes longer reboot your computer and re-run the network tests. It will discover it was successful and cross the software update off your list.

If you're trying to login in using the ETIS non-dealer option, try the other non-dealer option from the drop-down box.
