Finally had to go on a flatbed

How long do we all have free roadside assistance? Just curious.

But you tried just putting air in it, and then it held enough air to drive on the flatbed. Seems like I would have tried the goo. Was just curious to see if it worked.

40 pounds of pressure back down to zero within minutes. It literally was completely flat again after the tires had been secured.

Update! The tire was indeed un-patchable, as expected. Kind of a gash instead of just a hole as well. Fortunately, they said they would have a replacement tomorrow.

As for having it sent to our dealer anyway, I did not want to throw away $600 (the updated amount from my wife as she is the one who talked to them the first time around) on top of what I knew was going to be an expensive replacement.

Before calling Roadside Assistance, we looked online to see if we could find a replacement we could just deal with ourselves, but no luck.

i also had a flat tire this weekend, 6 hours from home. The "goo" worked great and got me to a place where I could get a new tire. They would not repair the nail hole b/c of the goo. I had to order the tire on tirerack.com and Fedex it to the repair shop. Lost a day of work and paid for an extra hotel night. I am not sure how to carry a spare for future trips.
