I suppose we've all had the beeping and flashing red screen saying something like Pre Collision System Activation. I would generally get it when a car in front of me slows to turn into a lot. I know I won't get that close, but MME responds anyway. I'm now trained to stay further back ;=) Last week I was in the right lane of a 4 lane street with NOBODY anywhere in front of me, but a fire truck with lights flashing was coming down the stret in the opposite direction. That apparently triggered the Pre Collision, etc. system. I recall an article of Teslas being attrected to emergency vehicles, even seeking them out IIRC. Did Ford "borrow" some Tesla software? Antbody else seen this?
TIA
Don Central VA (still feeling that I'm the only MME around here)

On both of my vehicles I had to turn that sensor level down. Was really annoying.

On my F-150 and Explorer it is in the Menu system on the dash. Vehicle Settings | Driver Assist | Pre Collision Warning I believe. From the factory it is set to its most sensitive.

from the manual:

1. Access the vehicle drawer.
2. Press SETTINGS.
3. Press Driver Assistance.
4. Press Pre-Collision Assist.

I can't go check my car right now but that looks right.

Found it ! It was on Normal, now Low.
Then on the way home there was a guy, not very fast, moving from the #1 lane (leftmost) to the right shoulder. I was also in the left, way back, and the pre-collision cut in even thought the guy was practically on the shoulder. Maybe the field of view is too wide..

The field of view is very wide. It impacts (no pun intended) adaptive cruise as well.😕
