I got my adapter last year, but I charge at home and almost never DCFC, but today decided to test it just to see how it worked (and make sure it did). I drove up to Burlington, had 66% when I got there. I tried using the Tesla app but got an error message saying "Your vehicle is not able to charge at Superchargers at this time". It was the first time I tried to use the Tesla app, it asked for billing details, and I had to enter them. I remember someone saying sometimes it takes time for the app to register you after you first enter details, so maybe that's the reason. No matter, Ford came through for me. I decided to plug in anyway to see what PnC would do, it started charging instantly

On the first unit I was getting around 27kW, so I stopped and moved to another. On the second one I was getting 60kW, so I just let it go. There was a guy charging his Lightning, I asked him his speed and he was getting over 160kW.

In any case, I verified to myself I could use Superchargers, and the adapter is easy to use. Maybe next time the app will work, and also maybe I will get better speeds.

I thought you have to use Oval Charge Network on Ford Pass to use Tesla chargers and not Tesla app? I got my adapter but haven't used it yet.

You can use either one. But if you use the Tesla app, you must activate the charger before plugging in. IMO the only reason to use the Tesla app is to get the membership rate. Otherwise just use plug & charge.

How often you charge at Superchargers will depend if the membership is worth it or not. For me I live in an apartment. Although we have Blink level 2 chargers they are always taken up by ICE vehicles and it costs .49 cents/kWh. I have PG&E EV2 rate plan for my home electricity and it’s .32 cents/kWh to plug into my 240v dryer after midnight and drag a cord out to my EV but the office has since said I can’t do that. So now I go across the street to the Superchargers every 5 days at 4 am for about hour at .31 cents/kWh. It’s $12.99 plus tax for the membership but it’s cheaper and faster than my dryer plug (if I was allowed) and the Blink chargers (if I actually got a parking spot). With the membership I pay the same rate that Tesla owners pay plus my credit card gives me 4% cash back for EV charging.

You can do either method. I've done both Plug & Charge as well as the Tesla app.

The first time I charged at a supercharger I used the Ford app using plug and charge and it cost me .50 cents/kWh ? then I learned about the membership and it was a no brainier for me. Now I turned off PnC in the Ford app and exclusively use the Tesla app.

I have only used the adapter one time and I just plugged it in and got 300 miles (I was down to less than 10miles) in 45mins. That seems really fast to me as I normally charge at home. No Tesla app needed...
