I've had my 2024 MME for just 4 months and in that time I've learned so much in this forum. When I bought this car I never knew it could charge at Tesla chargers, but when I learned it could, and through recommendations I read in this forum, I bought an A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter. I'm also signed up in the Blue Oval network with charge card on file. Today I found myself at a Tesla row of chargers so stopped to put what I thought I knew to the test.

Pulling up far enough to accommodate Tesla's minimal cable length took 3 tries, but I finally found that sweet spot. I wasn't sure of the correct order to hook up so I went with my last memory from this forum and plugged the adapter into my charge port first. Using Ford Pass I 'started' the charge then plugged the Tesla cable into my adapter and it immediately started charging.

Having successfully accomplished my first Tesla charge experience I'm now more confident about charge options and my ability to interact with them. I also have a Tesla destination charger adapter on order from A2Z but they're really busy and it's been delayed, but I can wait. I would also like to compliment them on their very robust Typhoon Pro adapter, it weighs a ton but my God it's solid and SO well built. Kudos to A2Z.

Thanks for listening, I just wanted to share and to thank this community for such a remarkable forum/database.

Came very close to using Elmo juice. But EA was in the same location and cheaper. And felt good that I’m not selling my soul to the devil. I might someday, but not today ?. Neither on Saturday when I take the same trip back.

Another observation is that all the stations that unlock real value for us in Michigan’s west coast lower peninsula (north of Grand Rapids) are unavailable to us, peasants. There is no reason to use Tesla if EA is available and working. Like none.

If you'll just be using it occasionally you may want to flip the switch for plug and charge. As the name suggests you just plug it in to start charging, no need to activate in any app.

If you'll be going more than a couple times a month the Tesla membership is worth it though, in that case you'd want to leave plug and charge off and use the Tesla app for activation.

When i was visiting my dad in New Hampshire, i had to show a couple of other Mach E owners how to use their adapters, and i ended up having a cool conversation with a couple of other guys that were charging.
