Flat tire question

I had AAA tow my Mach-E with a flatbed tow truck because of a severely punctured tire. Was an OK experience, but the Mach-E GT front lip got some minor scratches because it was too low for the angle of the tilted flatbed.

The Mach-E front is extremely low for an SUV and if the angle would have been any steeper, it would have probably been much worse, so maybe that's something to consider.

You might check for mobile tire services in your area - if you found the location of the hole, and it is on the tread, then it can be fixed in your driveway faster and cheaper than taking the entire car to a tire place.

I just had my tires changed on my MME at Americas Tire. I was worried about them lifting the car. However, they had a lot of Teslas in the parking lot so I can assume that they have fair understanding of the perils of BEV and lifting in the wrong location. To be safe, I printed out the lift location from the manual and handed it to them. Got my car back and nothing wrong. Short of standing there and watching them, not much else to do.

I also use Discount Tire / America's Tire. I have been standing and watching them for 2 decades, before I had EVs. Great company, but sometimes a junior person isn't capable and isn't supervised well, and I step in and stop them from doing something wrong, like mixing up the tires, or not balancing them before rotating.

Update: thanks all for the comments - everything went smoothly and tire repaired. I had driven over something like a razor or pen knife blade so it was fortunate I didn't drive on it or slice my fingers.

We actually backed the MME onto the flatbed in my driveway and I watched pretty carefully when the AAA driver drove it off at the tire center and I didn't see the front end make any contact either way.

I showed the guy who was jacking up the car the diagram of the jack points and he seemed to be pretty thorough looking for the correct spot at least I hope so.

AND there were at least 2 Teslas there also getting tires or repairs.

I had a flat about 10,000 miles ago, I just removed the screw, plugged the tire, and inflated it.

I've repaired mine twice.
Just pull the tire off and put in a mushroom plug.
I use them on all my vehicles, and motorcycles.
