I am thinking about adding another charger to my home since I have two EV, both Ford. I have solar panels as well 16.4Kwh system. I am intrigued by the idea of the Ford intelligent back up system working as a battery back up to my system instead of adding battery system to my home. So has anyone had success in adding the Ford intelligent back up system to their home??

This dictates what charger I am going to add. Go for the Ford Pro or just add the regular one. I have the Lightning (standard range) and MachE (Premium)

Thank for any insight to this.

Cheers!

You’ll need the pro station, along with an 80A line. Most likely will require additional hardware if you want to actually use it to power your house during outages/on peak.

You can check out this thread on the lightning forum: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...uired-for-ford-intelligent-backup-power.9677/

The pro station can charge both your lightning and the MachE but only the lightning can be used to supply power to the house.

Not sure about Canadian implementations of the system, I know Sunrun is doing it in the US.

The lightning‘s also JUST got the feature enabled/working. You would likely need to get your lightning fully updated either at the dealership or wait for some OTAs.
