I guess I don't understand why OP would not just call the dealer? I'm assuming the paperwork will tell him whether he paid for this "extra service". But, if not, my money is on the wife hired a lawyer who told her to put it in the care because she suspects infidelity or is in the process of filing for divorce.

Pretty sure it was listed on the paperwork he signed, which means it is on him not doing his due diligence....

Yeah, as I saw that paper, I vaguely recall finance guy tell me about it. I don’t recall if I was given an option to opt out though (or if I was given the option, but wasn’t aware of the FordPass’ tracking capabilities).

But yes, it is on me - 100%.

you ALWAYS have the ability to "opt out"! Dealer won't refuse to remove a bs fee? WALK OUT! If more poeple did this the auto industry would be better...
So you signed a loan on a $40-50K plus transaction and DIDN'T read through the paperwork? That is all on you brother..

My tracker was stowed behind the footrest. I removed the whole thing and re-snapped the original OBD connector back into its mount. I also removed the SIM Card. The device has a lithium backup battery and a LED light on the side. It will flash until the battery runs down. The data wires were already cut, no doubt by the dealer when the vehicle was sold. These devices are used for asset protection. They are capable of using GPS data and communicating via a cellular and/ or Bluetooth connection.
