Just because I'm interested and my kids say I'm a geek I of course connected an ODBII connector and my torque app.
I wanted to see what the battery temperature was and how it changed with the outside temperatures.
These are some random readings. I show a low of 41 F and a high of 78.8.
Anyone else have readings to share?
Is 41 to 78 "normal"?

The battery will end up close to the average temperature the vehicle is situated in. Thermal equilibrium.

The battery should ideally be kept above 40ºF and below 95ºF when it's being used. So yes normal.

I'm a CarScanner user.

HvbAve, HvbMinT, HvbMaxT:
What is the length of time used for the average, high, low temperature readings?

Thanks!

It all depends. What were you doing when the HVBT was 51.8 but the outside temperature was 30? Ditto when the HVBT was 59 and the outside 37?

Random readings give random results. If you had been preconditioning the battery, those differences mean you preconditioned your battery temperature.

These are all snapshot readings not averages.
Most were in my garage.
when it shows a value for chrpwr it was taken while charging.
I don't have any readings while DC fast charging.
Ford chat did not have any information on what is a "normal" range. They did say to plug it in <50F or >80F.

Just as a note: Early on I had it charging while it was 90+ outside. While it was in the garage charging the AC was running to cool the battery etc.
