Been ticketed twice without a front license plate in IL so I purchase this since I didn't want to drill into the bumper (there have been talk about changing the law). Ever since installing, the front collision sensor triggers when driving under 5mph. Doesn't happen every time but enough to be incredibly annoying. Has anyone else with a front license plate experienced this?

I'm 99% positive I installed it correctly. Going to try removing the frame I added in case that's somehow the cause.

Yup, that plate is sitting too low and blocking the cruise radar between the grille shutters. That plate bracket is not compatible with the Mach-E and shouldn’t be sold because of this issue.

Sucks IL still cracks down on front plates. Even CA has gotten lax on that, at least from what I’ve noticed.

Well damn again. Looking at the other options they all seem to do this to some degree

Took 5 months before I got my first, then got a 2nd a couple weeks later. Both in the same hood so I'm sure it's just 1 meter maid. I see so many vehicles without front plates around town so it's pretty stupid

Many of us use Craig’s Bracket. Quite a few threads here about it. It can be made to work By making sure the plate is pressed all the way up against the car, rubber bumpers touching the nose. Also it could be your plate holder.

I also tried STo-N-Show which is another option but has to be bent downward to not interfere with sensors and makes things, IMO, too low.

Someone on another thread suggested this and I bought it and am using it on my craigs bracket without issues. It raises the plate just enough.

I also got the Craig's bracket as the wife absolutely doesn't want the drill holes. She didn't even want the plate but I also don't want a fine. Well the sensor issue struck so I removed it and put it under the rear storage area. Based on the number of Teslas we see around here with no front plates, it seems like cops are not enforcing it. We're gonna just raw dog it with no plate for now.

If you use this with the Craig’s bracket, you can raise the plates enough to avoid most false alarms. I use it and it works pretty well. (I’ve had maybe four false alarms in a few months of using the bracket in combo with Craig’s.)

FYI, I have a GT.
