Oh, interesting. I think mine would still scrape. The bottom of my plate scrapes when I go out of my driveway unless I go out at an angle when I have the Sto N Sho. It's not the end of the world, but I also am not a huge fan of scraping noises.Pictures:

I would definitely not like mine scraping. It must be a really sharp angle. I have only scraped mine when getting too close to a high curb.Oh, interesting. I think mine would still scrape. After 2 years, the flat plastic shield cracked badly, taking the plate with it. Perhaps I tightened the bolts a little too much. I've got another shield somewhere, not sure I want to use it.I purchased two kinds of plastic license plate covers: a flat one to put the vinyl simulated plate on, and a curved one to cover up and protect the vinyl plate.
The flat one:
Zone Tech Clear License Plate Shields - 2-Pack Novelty/License Plate Clear Durable Flat Thick Shields - Walmart.com
The curved one:
Auto Drive Universal License Plate Cover Unbreakable Clear Dome - Walmart.com
Did you have a vinyl copy of your plate on the front like me? Wow. I didn't think about the possibility of that happening. I would order a new one. I wonder if they keep the image on file so I can just reorder? After 2 years, the flat plastic shield cracked badly, taking the plate with it. Perhaps I tightened the bolts a little too much. Yes, a vinyl plate, stuck to the flat shield. The bubble cover is mostly fine. They did not offer a reprint discount, now charge a little more, and no coupons. The plate was fine before the plastic disintegrated, so I gritted my teeth and reordered. I do have the extra shield, I will think about how to make it last longer.Did you have a vinyl copy of your plate on the front like me? Wow. I didn't think about the possibility of that happening. There are some that say they won't shatter. That is the kind I purchased.Yes, a vinyl plate, stuck to the flat shield. The bubble cover is mostly fine. Yep, mine said that too. Same Zone Tech brand, can’t vouch for Amazon fakes. I probably messed up and tightened too hard. I got a replacement Sto’n’sho, so I tightened it up 2 or 3 times. There are some that say they won't shatter. That is the kind I purchased.
That’s why a Sho-n-sto is useful. You can remove the plate whenever, or leave it on for the towns and parking garages where you might get a warning the first time, and a non-minor ticket the next.We have never put a front license plate on my wife's 2008 Mustang (bought new in Dec 2007). We bought a Mach-E and as the dealer was installing the plates we ask him not to put front license plate on. The cops around here have much more important things to do than to write tickets on such a thing. If stopped for something else, maybe they will site us, but it is such a minor fee (if they don't just give us a warning) we will just pay the fee and put the plate on at that time, if it comes to that.
I got pulled over for speeding a couple weeks ago. He gave me a warning. If I didn't have a front plate, would he have given me a warning about that also? Or maybe that would be a fine? Nobody knows what he would have done, of course, but if the front plate is on, I don't have to worry about that. I just need to pay more attention to where the speed traps are.
