Okay so just posting this to see if any one else has experienced this. My car updated to 6.7 today, the "frunk" update. I have 22 awd, and have had the frunk app and fob feature for a while. While sitting on my sofa I heard my alarm go off while in the car was in the garage. I wasnt on my phone nor had my fob on me at the time. The frunk randomly just opened. This has never happen before. Update fluke? A bug? Just want to get the forums pulse if they seen this before?

So it happened again, about 10 minutes after the first alarm. I noticed by Bluetooth wasnt connecting to my car. So as a hunch, I took the car around the block. The car connected again to Bluetooth on my phone. it's been about 15 minutes, no further alarms so far. To note I am on a beta of the ford pass so maybe something weird with the software. Any watys I submitted a bug report to ford. Thanks again if you have any insight or similar experiences.

There's many documents instances of both the frunk and hatch opening on their own. The thought by Ford was originally that water got into the electronics and caused it. I was a guinea pig for them to attempt a rebuild to isolate the issue. It never fixed it.

So, yes it's a known bug, and there's no known fix. This is one of the main reasons I got rid of my MachE. If I can't trust the vehicle not to open on it's own then I can't trust the contents within to remain safe.

The biggest thread on this subject can be found here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...wn-and-hit-the-garage-door-come-on-ford.5149/

Good luck to you.

Got 6.7.0 this morning. Nothing wonky yet.

I got this Nothing Burger update last weekend. Has anyone seen a change?
My Mustang has always been able to open the frunk with the app via Bluetooth, which sucks because you have to be within 15 feet of the car to get it to work.
I was hoping this was going to allow us to actually use the function remotely in a manner similar to starting the car, but I haven't seen this yet.
Is there an update to FordPass that makes this new function work? Or is this taking credit for a "NEW" function when we've always had that function?

It's a mix of reusing release notes across model years, some MY21 didn't have even bluetooth frunk yet before this update.

Highly unlikely there will be a remote frunk option outside of bluetooth range, probably for safety/security reasons, since it's not a power frunk that can be closed remotely after opening.

Yes, I understand. Hyping up that a few users may get new functionality. They should say "We've made a Software Update that allows some Mustang owners...."
They SHOULD have had enough targeting to customize the message to explain what I was getting, which was nothing.

I just got a notification in FP that my alarm was triggered. I am parked at a train station in the Chicago suburbs and working in the city. Got 6.7 last night. Would it make sense to assume that my frunk popped on it's own and that is why my alarm triggered? ?

It’s going to work like a fob so you have to be within range. Same as the trunk.

I've encountered this issue several times since last Monday; it occurs randomly. I'm uncertain whether it's safe to drive the car. Even if it has a double lock, the outcome is unpredictable. When I stand in front of the car for 2 to 3 minutes, I begin to hear the latch mechanism activating. I have recorded a video of this phenomenon.
