Tesla is a very innovative company and I appreciate out of the box thinking. I seriously considered a M3P because it is an amazing vehicle. However a lot of Tesla's "innovation" is cost cutting disguised as innovation and the styling is boring at this point.
Pretty much this, dress up cost cutting and pass it of as minimalism. There will be plenty that like the absence of stalks and physical buttons and the bean counter special single screen, but you can already see some manufactures are moving away and using the next model cycle to start the process of putting the buttons back they took away in favor of a screen.

Even tesla has given up on the stupid yoke and now has it as a cost option. I wouldn't be surprised to see the model 3 get a stalks retro fit later down the line lol.

As with all things it will depending on which camp you are in, If Ford continues down the path it seems to be on of turning into a tesla xerox machine then the chances of my next EV being a Ford will be even smaller than it is now which is already very low, but for others they may see this as a plus point.

Seeing as most of these design ideas come and go in cycles chances are you probably going to end up with both camps having a choice, it will all depend on when you are looking as to which manufactures end up on your consider vs deal breaker list..

A HUD would be fine. Much more useful than a screen for the people I almost never have in the back seat, lol
IMO…Concur actually having to take eyes off the road could be a safety issue. So the more you can reduce it with a HUD, forward screen, something not yet invented. A good majority of accidents are distracted drivers so even taking eyes off the road by turning your head adds to the risk vice just moving eyes. Albeit the difference is small it all added up with speed and all other distractions. Other item to consider is Human Systems Integration which factors in east of use, safety, convienance, and “common sense”. And by common sense think of doors that push open but have a handle instead of a push bar and how many times you naturally pull vice push.

How come it only comes with Blue Cruise 1.2 and not 1.3?

Forget all these screens and instrument clusters. In fact get rid of the windshield. All we need is a VR headset and cameras. Then you can make your virtual cockpit look however you like.
Yes, you can drive your car with Apple Vision Pro 😀

HUDs can “wash out” in certain lighting situations, so an IP is still a must.
