FWIW, I upgraded my service from 100amp overhead to 400amp buried. I have twin 200amp panels. One is for my home and detached garage circuits and the other is for my dual ChargePoint Home Flex chargers (on a 70amp breaker). Plus my Pool/Hot Tub branch circuit. I didn't want to bother with load sharing or anything. Wasn't cheap though. But a lot of people don't know that amount of power is available to residential.

Depends on your area, and other demands. I was told that I can upgrade to 400amp service, and if I do it before my neighbor, no charge from the power company. Whoever goes 2nd has to pay for an upgraded transformer, price was close to $300 as I recall.

We were happy to drive our new MME home and trying to be thoughtful about the charger we install. Seems like you folks have lots of informed opinions.

I am thinking I would like to install a dual charger - because I am hopeful that the next owner of this house (or me) will have two EVs. And as I understand the plugs are standardizing away from the plug this 2023 MME currently sports.

What recommendations do you all have for a dual charger with some future proofing that can be wired directly to the panel on its own circuit?

TIA
I bought a Tesla Universal Charger with a J1772 adapter built in.
That way it has both major charging standards.
I didn’t go with a wall connector, only have 1 EV so far.

IMHO the best future-proofing is to run an 8-gauge or 6-gauge dedicated EV wiring circuit, no matter what EVSE is / will live at its end.
