Glitchy sync screen

Lately I’ve notice the sync screen been sluggish and over all slow to response. I called Ford Pass and had a horrible experience. I was transferred to in vehicle technology the associate said to hold down the volume down and right arrow at the same time. Nothing happened. They said to lock the door walk away and restart. Nothing happened. The gal was oblivious to what my screen is. The lack of product knowledge especially for vehicle technology was shocking. I said I was disappointed not so much with her but the entire experience. She sighed and said this is a new vehicle for Ford and they may not have the latest training material. I thanked her and waited for the survey. 1’s across the board.
So how do I fix a sluggish sync screen ?

You hold the down volume and the right arrow until your screen goes black. That does a CRTL+ALT+Delete like in the old days.

If it's still sluggish, factory reset Sync. You will loose everything and you'll need to setup PAAK, etc.

If all fails, you'll need to bring it to a stealership and have it diagnosed.

Sync is sluggish for all of us. If you think it's significantly worse now, it might be helpful to record a video so we can see what you're experiencing.

The support person was right about how to restart sync, etc. You might give it another try since you said nothing changed last time. You should be seeing the screen go black and then an animation a moment later while it is restarting. You may not have held the correct buttons on the steering wheel, or maybe not for enough seconds.

I do sometimes wish there was a way we could revise our survey feedback on calls like that, or do it later after we've had more time to digest our thoughts.

You have to hold the buttons for like 5-10 seconds before it will reset. And you should be on the FM radio page if it doesn’t work. Those might be two critical pieces of information she didn’t know.

That's for opening the hidden diagnostics screen (vol down + prev track).

For a regular restart, which is what he needs, it doesn't matter what screen is currently open, and the hold time is shorter (3-5 seconds?).
