Wonder if anyone else has this problem. Had the car for about a year, and it worked fine until we came back from a 2 week vacation. Most of Android auto works fine, just not the google maps. Any ideas on what to try? No updates available on car and all phone apps are up to date.

NEVER MIND!
It was the phone. On last update of android operating system, the settings for deep sleep in background changed. If this happens to you, go to settings, and do not let the phone put the app to sleep in the background. Sorry for the wasted, but maybe helps someone else.
