I suspect Ford has some tricks up its sleeve with future software updates, much like Tesla has done to incrementally improve efficiency with updates. If we've learned anything through Ford's MME experiment, it's that Ford has thoroughly researched Tesla and tried to replicate its successes and one-up its deficiencies.
