Well after being a day one reservation and placing my order day one back in April, my GT PE showed up a couple weeks ago. Aside from some pretty nasty hard water spots form sitting around for months before making its way home, the car is amazing! We had decided to sell as we signed in a new build home in September and weren’t sure we’d have a place to store or charge over the winter but we are planning to stay in our current place til the build is done so all good there now.
Unfortunately, When I input the order online day one, I didn't check the box for the black roof. I emailed the dealer the same day and let them know, asking them to change it out. Initially, they said they didn't show a black roof option on their end and that they assume all GT's just come with it. I let them know it was indeed an option and to please update my order. I then sent several reminder emails and calls over the next several months, getting similar replies. Finally, the vin was assigned and the next time I sent an email asking about the black roof, the reply was, now that it is scheduled for production it can't be changed. They said they would contact their rep and try but no promises and no way to know until it arrived. I found this all suspect, but with a nearly 2 year waiting period since November of 19 on this car, I just had to wait it out. Guess what, I have a tiny grabber blue roof. Boo.
Oh well, the car is absolutely amazing! Because my dream was a grabber blue Mach E PE with a black roof. I went ahead and ordered a '22 in October and will just drive this one til the 22 arrives, then see how the market looks. Until then, I'm going to get familiar with the car and just enjoy the heck out of it! Truly very happy with the car and everyone I've taken for a ride has loved it as well. Even my sister commented that she's not a car person and loved it.
Funny how differing opinions are on the PE seats. For me at 6’ about 180lbs my first comment was that they are some of the most comfortable seats in any car I e driven. The shoulder bolsters don’t look as odd as pics make them seem and they do add nice support in corners.
Having driven a base Mach E months back I can definitely say the magnaride makes a noticeable difference in stability. The power, as has been noted, drops off after 70ish, but I’ve got a V8 for top end and as a daily car that gives me the Mustang I love with 4 doors, AWD and plenty of fun, I absolutely love this car!
