My God. I can’t imagine ever setting any thermostat to 74F for myself.

I keep the car in a 55 degree garage. Could that have something to do with it? It was not plugged in just before I left that day. This morning is -28F. I'm about to do a 4 mile drive and then leave it parked outside for a couple of hours. I'll report back on what happens. I do have it plugged in before leaving this time.Do not turn up the fan speed when it's very cold, you will cool down the cabin from all the cold air being sucked in. That was probably the main issue. In extreme cold, keep fan speed 3 or less.
Use AUTO, if the window is fogging up tap the regular defrost button, if it doesn't take care of it, then hit the MAX Defrost button. As soon as the frost is gone, put it back in AUTO or you will keep losing heat.
At -10ºF, heat will be limited. That's about where I start losing cabin temp, it might only be able to maintain 60ºF in the cabin.
After my "test" I'd say best to keep it plugged in as you suggested! That being said, I now wonder if I truly started out at 90% on the day in question. I may have assumed it was 90% because I do my best to keep it charged. Anyway, today the car was plugged in and I unplugged before I left. Backing out of the garage, the battery indicator said 89% charge. I drove my 4 miles. The car thermometer registered -25 F. When I got to my destination, the battery was at 88%. When I put the car in park, the dash screen advised me to keep the car plugged in due to the cold temps. 1 hr 45 min later I came back after preheating the car. Battery was still at 88% & the car said it was -23 outside. Windows were pretty frosty. I used max defrost but I need to play with the settings as you suggested because it did blow a lot of cold air today. Thank you for the advice. It will help me to do a better job managing the car in cold weather!I keep the car in a 55 degree garage. Could that have something to do with it? It was not plugged in just before I left that day. I would say that's normal. There's just not enough heat at -25ºF to defrost the windows while driving. After my "test" I'd say best to keep it plugged in as you suggested!
