Heated seats set to auto mode.

I'm curious. I have my climate control (a/c heat) turned off, I have the seats set to automatic. The manual says that the auto heat seats are set based on your thermostat setting. I'm not sure I understand this. Today when I started off, the seats came on with ambiet temp of 49. This afternoon they also came on with an ambient temp of 55. Does anyone know if a temp threshold exists for when they go on/off?

BTW, no pre-conditioning or anything like that.

Interesting question. Not sure.
My seats come on with temps in mid 60s and steering wheel a little cooler than that. The colder it is, the higher the seat warming setting.
