my reservation was accepted by a local Ford dealer for 2022 Premium AWD. After 2 days, I quickly realized I want the California Route-1; In following the FAQ, and as well as talking to Ford Marketing, I was told "only the local dealer can help you change or cancel an order". So arm with this, I goto my dealer, and ask for their help. My dealer tells me, they don't change orders or cancel, and that Ford must do this. what is going on? would someone shed light on the exact process? And if its the dealer, what is the steps they do to effect this change? it's 2022, ordering a Mach-E to my exact specs can't be this difficult. however, my dealer is adamant that only Ford can help me. thus I'm stuck in a limbo to quickly figure this out...

Lol your dealer is so wrong. Of course they can change/cancel orders if you only placed it two days ago. Ask for the sales manager, then the GM.

Same thing happened to me, kind of. Ordered a Premium, decided a couple days later that the GT looked nice. I ordered the GT, and kept the Premium order. Turns out the second order delivered months earlier than the first, so I kept the GT. I'd have been happy with either one.

The way Ford delivers, it can be good to have two orders.

Worst case just order a second one lol. Make sure they will give you a refund on deposit later on though.
