Yep. Had the same last week, luckily the local dealer fixed it within a week through a combo of hardware replacement and software updates.

The software update was FDRS transferred into my car before I went to WA in early May. @scoopman had his spring HVBJB failure after he did the software update the day before he helped me do mine. So, the software was available, there just wasn’t a recall yet. ??

You really need to pull codes to determine what type of problem caused the light to come up in the first place. I know a lot of us like to jump to the HVBJB as soon as a service vehicle soon light comes on, but that light just means there are error codes in the system that will tell a tech where to start diagnosing the concern.

I will say that if the SVS light came on but then went out later, there is a much better chance that it is NOT the HVBJB impending failure. Once the code comes up for the HVBJB the light stays on and will not clear on its own.

This, and you can check for stored codes, should still be there to tell you what went wrong. I wouldn't worry about it if it went away by itself.

The recall software that monitors the HVBJB was available exactly on June 28th, and was flashed on mine and poodle's cars on June 29th. How do I know this? I found out what the software does on June 30, when I got the world's first Service Vehicle Soon HVBJB code....

Huh, I misremembered the sequence of things. My bad! ??

Oh, NOW I remember the thing we flashed in April: Charging curve. Totally dumb memory here. ??

our Ford Service Dept always goes to voicemail. I am not expecting my rep to call back
This is a bit off topic, but if you're getting crappy service from a dealer, can you contact another dealer in the general area? Also you should name and shame the dealer who refuses to provide reasonable service.

I tried using "Car Scanner" with my bluetooth dongle, but I'm not seeing any place for the codes. When I went o Diagnostic Trouble Codes... that was empty.

I had the same issue pop-up almost 2 weeks ago. I took it to the dealership and they noticed that the issues were emanating from the gear shift module, which is basically the round dial that help you shift gears. They changed out the part (covered under warrantee), which caused all sorts of other faults popping up in the console. Long story short they gave me the car back after almost a week but I have had no issues since. I've been driving it over a week at this time.

I suspect it may be the GSM. I had just switched it from Reverse to Drive and gave it gas when it freaked out. It's at the Dealer now (they called back a couple hours later). They are closed on the weekend, so I do suspect that they may be quite busy Monday AM. To be fair to them, there is a labor and parts shortage making things more difficult.

I recommend opening a case with the BEV team to help move things along. The information is in the main HVBJB thread.

Good luck!

Hmmm… Was the car at a full stop when you changed “gears?” I have heard of cars freaking out if they’re switched from one propulsion direction to another while still in motion. I have not seen this myself, but I *think* I pretty much come to a full stop since I drive so many manual trannies. ?‍♂?

I thought the software update didn’t come out until July or so. maybe I am wrong
I believe dealers were able to install this one via FDRS before it was available OTA. I'm pretty sure I had the dealer do mine in late June. There wasn't a recall yet, but we knew about the issue and I believe I was able to get it covered under an extended warranty. It may have been the very end of June.
