That’s a helpful warning. You should disconnect whatever you plugged in.

I’m going to go out on a ledge here and speculate that there is something causing an excessive drain in the electrical system. You may want to remove any 3rd party electrical accessories (dashcams, under the car neon, etc) and, if that doesn’t resolve the issue, take the car to the dealer and let them have a go.

There are only a couple of BT OBD-2 adapters that will shut themselves off after your phone leaves the car. I always unplug my adapter after I am done with it. Of course it is rarely plugged in. If you rely on the information in CarScanner on every trip you make, it might be wise to get one of the adapters that shuts itself off. ??

And as I said previously, prior to the OBD Bluetooth dongle I had no issues like this, so I removed it and plugged in the car and will see today if the problem rears its ugly head again.

Do you know what ones shut off?

You probably left Car Scanner data collection active, which will prevent the car from going to sleep and will drain the battery. Make sure you hit the red "Disconnect" button and/or fully quit the app whenever you are done using Car Scanner.

This

I have one of the premium OBD adapters (OBDlink MX+) and it's really good about shutting itself down. I have left it plugged in for months in my 2022 F150. (I use the OBDlink app in the truck, rather than CarScanner)

This same adapter, if plugged into the Mach-E, and I had been using CarScanner on the spare phone (I use in both vehicles), it does not turn off and the CarScanner app stays connected as well!
This will result in the FordPass warning as the AGM battery is draining. AND the phone battery is killed as well.

I have to remember to click disconnect in CarScanner, and I close it completely. If I do that, it appears the OBDlink adapter will go to sleep and it doesn't draw the AGM down in short order.

In my personal opinion, CarScanner is a participant in this phenomenon. The OBDlink app automatically disconnects from the OBDlink adapter if you shut the vehicle off.

Can get a an extension cable with a physical switch. Sits pretty decent and then you can just turn your dongle on and off instead of removing it.
