Only pointing out the workplace accounts have very, very different privacy protections. Google treats people who pay them money very differently from free users. There are other suppliers that don’t treat me as a product to be commoditized, so why should I pay Google to not commoditize me? I do not find any of their offerings THAT compelling.
And, there are actually companies building business models that include advertising, without commoditizing the users (such as DuckDuckGo).
If you don't want to be the product, be the customer.
Knowing a few things about their security and privacy systems, i think the workplace accounts might well have the best combination of privacy and security in the industry. This is subjective, but i spent a few decades in advertising and privacy.
I don't think i can cobble together the combination of storage, email, docs, nav, and now ai from any other company, at a competitive price, with the high level of privacy protection that Google gives paid customers.
Which is very different from free accounts, as you point out and we all know.
I use ddg exclusively for search.
We should probably leave this fine car forum about it's business.
Out.
