I've made hotel selections after researching on PlugShare for a while ones that have L2 chargers for guests, only to be thwarted from overnight charging by other BEV guests staying at the hotel. I knew it was always first come first serve for charging but I was annoyed that the premise of my selection of that location was the possibility of using a charger.

Which leads me to my complaint/idea generator.......having the franchises allow you to "reserve" a L2 charger as part of your reservation when booking. For a hopefully "nominal" fee you could reserve one of their chargers as part of your stay. That way if I was making a reservation I would have a relative idea if one of my desired "amenities" was available or not. For instance other guests could use it but from 8pm to 8am it was mine to use. Solving a problem for the 2% out there? yes, but with the chains such as Hilton and Marriott partnering with charging companies I see it as an amenity that differentiates, and for which they could make a little more money off each guest. $5-10 extra to reserve a L2 for the night or pay an wait at an EA station?

Love the idea but it is a question of enforcement for the hotel. Unless these spaces are controlled by the hotel's valet service they won't be able to move scofflaws off the chargers without towing and that's a nightmare.
