How do I disconnect from fast charging

When I use a faster charger that plugs into all the posts on my Mach E premium I cannot disconnect it. The level 2 chargers are no problem but the faster chargers will not let me disconnect when I have finished. I push the stop button on the charger but the car won’t allow me to remove the cable from my car. I had men try to disconnect it for me but it takes a long time. BC hydro charges a fee for staying connected when the charging stops. I don’t see a release button inside the car like my focus had. HELP.

How are you stopping the charger?

As a rule of thumb it's best to stop a DCFC charging session using the button highlighted above - the one inside the blue rings. That will tell the charging equipment to stop, and you'll hear the car release the pin that keeps the handle connected to the car.

Also, does this happen on all the fast chargers you've tried? I've had a very hard time with the Jule equipment - the chargers actually look like a big white letter "J" - very hard to get the cable out, even though the car has released it.

YES. You should always use that unlock button to stop DC charging, not the button on the charger.

If the button doesn't work, open your driver's door first.
