If you call Ford, I would phrase it like “seems like my connectivity services haven’t been activated, can you check on that for me?” Or else they will just send you to a dealer when it’s possibly something they could fix from their end.

Might be the case as I got it on Dec 23rd, just before Christmas Eve. Question, could that be the same for BlueCruise? I cannot get to total handsfree mode on my local interstates but everything else seems to be working in the "hands on mode", including lane change and lane keeping. It will steer itself before asking me to put my hands back on wheel.
While you’re waiting, log onto your account at Ford.com. Go to your account and click on “Connected Services.” You’ll be able to see what services, like BlueCruise are active or not, with expiration dates. That will, at least, give you an idea of whether or not the stuff is active and not working or just not active yet.

I had the same problem after I purchased my car.

About two weeks later I found that hands free blue cruise and weather did not work. I also could not expand the connected services menu. I also noticed that the icon to indicate the vehicle data sharing being on was not displayed in the center display.

All services were listed as activated on Ford.com.

I performed a master reset which did not go completely smoothly as it was the next day before I was able to activate the car again in Fordpass.

But once I was allowed to activate the car again in Fordpass everything worked. I got weather, I got blue cruise, I could expand the connected services menu.

I think it has been suggested that pulling fuse #11 in the in cabin fuse box and leaving it out for 5-10 minutes before replacing it might force a reboot of the TCU and correct similar issues where the TCU does not appear to be working properly.

Wow, very interesting. This sounds exactly like my problem. I have a few days off this week so I will look into doing this "master reset" and hope that it doesn't take that long to reactivate. Great tip though! I will respond back if it works.

Update: Before doing any reboot, etc. I just signed up for Ford's "Virtual Tour" through Ford.com. https://www.ford.com/support/discover-your-ford/scheduling/

I am hoping they can see what the problem is and give an easy solution since it is suppose to be a video tour. Its in about 3 hours so will report back any findings. I also listed hands free bluetooth as a topic.

If I had known about pulling fuse #11 before I did my master reset, I would have tried that. If I were you, that is what I would try next.

It is the same idea as unplugging your modem/router at home to solve internet connection issues.

ok, thanks for the tip again. We had technical difficulties with the virtual tour so rescheduled for 4PM. In the meantime, I may just pull that fuse. If I do, about how long will the reboot take and will it cause any loss of settings for radio, vehicle, driver aids, etc? Thanks again!

It is my understanding nothing is lost. The suggestion is to leave it removed for about 5 minutes.

A big shout out to you as your recommendation cleared up my connectivity problem ? ! Just goes to show that the advice we get on this forum really can make a difference with all of us so I appreciate you reiterating that I should try it.

Also, your comment about leaving it out for 5 mins is a major factor because the first time I tried it I must not have left it out long enough as it didn't change a thing. I then did the reboot using the steering wheel buttons, and that did nothing either. I was about to give up and then thought, let me pull the fuse one more time and this time put it on a 6 min timer just to be sure I waited long enough. After giving it its time due, I plugged it back in and sure enough, my Connectivity Settings Menu was available! Wahoo! I then made sure most of the settings were turned on and went to the Nav screen. I actually had been without a lot of other features and had no idea. Of course weather came up but I didn't realize I had been missing traffic, some trip planning tools, charging station info, and some other things I now need to figure out! I also realize now why it hadn't been loading my contacts while on bluetooth only.

The only thing still not working is full hands free BlueCruise. I would have replied sooner but was on some errands trying it out on the local interstates and nada. Thus maybe that is not related to this issue after all. I also missed my virtual call with Ford due to thinking I had it all corrected so will try them again tomorrow. Thanks again!

So glad that fixed it.

For about a month could not open the rear hatch unless I opened any other door first.

It cleared up the next time I applied updates with FDRS but think if I had just disconnected the negative terminal on the battery for 5 minutes that would have fixed it as well.

Unplugging and then plugging back in really is the best first trouble shooting technique for electronics.

Here is a quick pic of the message.

Update: so i went thru the Manual and saw where I needed to reach additional settings that I think controls this. But I believe that has shed some light on the problem.... When I go to the Connectivity Setting screen and push "Connected Vehicle Features" it will not expand. It seems like it's locked out to me! The dealership setup a profile for my wife before we left but I did for myself at home. Could that have something to do with it? It will only work for her profile? So confusing... Going to find her key and try it.... Although that might be hard to do this late.

Unrelated question.
What brand and color volume dial cover is that?
It looks almost gold in the picture.

There are people whose BC worked on day 1. There are also people who had to wait a week or three. There are also 2021 Job1 cars that don’t have it yet (due to Ford’s OTA system not delivering them the software). Give it a little time to activate. ??

It's actually silver metal from AOSK. The lighting and/or white balance is causing that look. But I promise it usually looks silver metallic!

Ahh. I was a little excited there for a moment. I have a Cyber Orange MME and they could have passed as a close enough match.
I'd LOVE for @AOSK to be able to match Ford's exterior colors. I replied to them a month or so ago on the Cyber Orange color. They said they were going to try to get a sample to match, but hadn't seen anything.
All of that said, I thought they may have come out with that color....
Glad to hear that your problem is fixed. I think I'm having the same problem. About to pull fuse 11.
Fingers crossed!

Maybe so but this car was preloaded with that software version that should allow it, which was a deciding factor to buy it. The proof is that it will change lanes while I keep my hands off of the wheel before it warns me to put them back on. So it's doing everything else right.

I find it frustrating that it doesn't work right off the bat if the software version is current. In the week I have owned it I have driven 700 miles on four different interstate systems in two different states and I think I have a right to question why its not working. If it is truly slow to activate, why can't Ford tell us that instead of us just guessing if something is truly wrong or not. Also, if I was to bring it back to the dealer, which they have already told me to do so, how are they going to diagnose this? Take it out on the nearby interstate and see if it comes on? Just seems like there is no answer.
