How do you close open apps?

On previous versions of Sync you could close an open app by swiping up on the app’s tile. That no longer works. Is there some other way to do it?

Do the opposite. Swipe down and that should work.

Didn't know this was a thing with Sync. I wonder if it truly frees up some memory or it if it just gets rid of the recently used icon?

Yep. There was an update that came very shortly after I got my 2021 GT-PE that provided the swipe down to get rid of a tile. I didn't even know that the swipe up still worked. ?‍?
