Or...if you are enjoying accelerating fast, using your heater and are not going through all of your battery every day, and can charge up at home, then just drive and enjoy your new car and don't worry about range. My 2014 Ford Flex was supposed to get 18/25 MPG and never got more than 24 with cruise control set to 65 on a flat road. It averages 16.5 now. Estimates are never in real world conditions for any car, so just enjoy it.

I own a 2025 Rally. Driving at 59mph I got better milage than the sticker. Increasing the speed to 74mph made a big difference with a value well below the window sticker. I suspect the wing is a drag at speed on the Rally. Some ideas carry on from the gas engines. As long as you are not spinning your wheels, fast acceleration on our cars does little to hinder our mileage. You get it back during regen. The old accelerator pump is still on gas vehicles, by the electronic programing of the injector(s). When accelerating hard a bunch of wasted fuel has to be injected to prevent stalling of the engine. We do not have an electrical acceleration pump on our electric cars! I used to run into this many years ago with lawnmowers when hitting some heavy grass would kill the engine if you tried to open the throttle at the same time you hit the grass, because they did not have an accelerator pump to squirt a lot of extra gas into the engine.

I just bought 2025 Ford Mach E GT . I am observing the range I am getting is 235 miles only. Ford is advertizing it to be 250 miles. Please suggest how can I get nore mileage?
Change you username. Oh, and 280, not 250

Use 1 pedal for regen always. I love it!
You can't slow down with a GT-that's why you got it!!
This isn't a Tesla, so using 1-pedal has absolutely zero impact on range. The car will use as much regen as possible in all driving modes. Only Tesla has the brake pedal tied to friction braking, and they are finally phasing that out.

There absolutely is regenerative braking in Whisper mode in one-pedal mode. Tested this myself. I can dig up the post about it if you want.
yeah of course. I should’ve said “when not using one-pedal mode”. It actually says that in the link I posted.

There's regenerative braking in one-pedal mode in Whisper in some circumstances. Flat ground? None. Going down any sort of incline: absolutely.

There is absolutely regen in Whisper mode when using 2 pedal mode. The MachE uses hybrid braking. The computer will maximize regen before activating the friction brakes, in all modes. (With the exception of manually shifting the car into N, which disengages the motors and therefore zero regen happens. And below 5 mph, when only friction braking is used.)

Ford has said there is zero efficiency difference between any of the drive modes and 1PD on/off. That assumes same accel/decel rates. 1PD is not going to give you any extra range.

Unless you have a Tesla, where for some reason ($), they decided to directly connect the brake pedal to the friction brakes. People hear about how much more efficient it is to use 1PD from Tesla owners and assume it must be true for every other EV, and it just isn't.

Ford didn't advertise that you would get 250 miles of range per charge. They said that under a standardized set of tests that the car underwent, the car got 250 miles of range. These tests are the same tests that every car, regardless of whether it is powered by gasoline, diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, or electricity, undergoes. The range or MPG numbers are a tool to compare various vehicles against each other to see which one is more economical to run. The range part of the EPA results is almost an afterthought, but it is published for all types of cars. The MPGe rating is what determines if one EV is more efficient than another one.
This exactly. The EPA numbers are primarily a means of standardized results for comparison between different models, and secondarily, a general range you will likely be close to. There are countless factors that determine actual individual FE.

there's no regen in whisper mode (according to someone who tested this on reddit).

Regenerative braking numbers for each mode - Description inside : r/MachE
That post really doesn’t make any sense. He seems to be measuring what happens when you lift up on the accelerator pedal, which is…fine. But he’s tearing “1-pedal” as a separate category from Whisper/Engage/Unbridled, which is just nonsense — each of those has a different profile and they are wildly different.

in any case, he’s definitely not measuring how much regen you get when using the brake pedal!
