When I do my own wash, wax, and/or detailing, the car looks great after the wash; but I often find missed spots the day after. Is there anything to help me find spots I should clean again?

Back when I still washed my own car, it was while drying the car that I'd typically find missed spots. I presume you're drying your car, so are you not finding them then? As for missed wax, all I can suggest is to be very methodical. Or accept that perfection is unattainable. Or seek professional help (for the car🤣).

To reduce the chance of missing a spot when removing wax, it is best to break the car into smaller sections and focus on completely buffing off the wax one section at a time. Also, to help see any missed spots more easily, I suggest using a very bright inspection light to carefully look over the entire car, such as this one I found on Amazon:

If you do find a missed spot, you can usually just use some detail spray and a clean microfiber towel to remove it. If that doesn't work, you can try using some of the same wax or sealant you originally applied instead of the detail spray.

The only exception is if you applied a ceramic coating. Ceramic coatings are so durable and strong that the only way to remove a missed spot is to polish off the area with the missed spot using a dual action machine polisher and reapply it to the entire section.
