Thanks for the compliments. I'm not trying to be a "YouTuber", so I usually turn comments off on my videos. They would probably just be a bunch of people telling me I should have bought a Tesla...
not sure if you know my youtube channel (BentheEVguy) there is not many trolls so far. Some occassionally, most people are just positive. Again, great work, May I ask what editing software and what microphone you are using?

Cool Ben, I just subscribed to your channel, and I'm sure I've seen a few of your videos before. Keep it up!

I use Final Cut Pro for editing. I shoot on "whatever I have", which at this time is an iPhone 8 and a GoPro Hero5. Sometimes Julie's iPhone 10. I usually plan things to shoot, but sometimes I just try to "get coverage". I like to write out a "script" for a voice over...this is not a quick thing. I usually write something, then let it sit for a few days...rewrite it...let it sit...rewrite...rinse and repeat until it's the story I want to tell. Then I sit in front of my iPhone and record me reading that script. I use the native video camera app on the iPhone but plug in a Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Mic and point it right by my face. The video looks silly (see below), but I'm only using the audio. I stitch this together to make one, concise, efficiently told story and use that as my base timeline in the edit. I'll put video over it and music under it and throw in other elements as needed, eventually molding it into a video like you saw. If I work sun-up to sun-down I could probably do one a week, but I have a day job so these take a long time to do...thus my "one a month" goal. ..which won't happen again until I get my new computer now, so...hopefully I'll have another before summer.

Sooo...I was hoping to be able to share our second video with y'all today, but I got about 90% done editing it and my five year old computer said "...I'm too old for this sh*t..." and stopped letting me make changes. So I thought I'd do a restart and hope it could clear the cobwebs a bit, but when I brought the edit back up it had lost an additional 30% of my work. Needless to say I'm beyond frustrated and feeling a bit defeated right now...

But tomorrow morning I'm going to order a new iMac (like I have $4,600 laying around), which should be here sometime in April, and I'll start it all over again. Hopefully, in the meantime, Julie and I will have some more adventures to record for future "content".

Stay tuned......
So April came and Apple said "we need another month"...and I waited...

But last week the new computer showed up (yay!) and this weekend I finally put together the long awaited "episode 002" of The Mach-E Files. This one is our first day trip...way back in February...out to Cannon Beach, Oregon.

You'll have to excuse the...er..."sentimentality" aspects of the video. I make these for myself and my wife for us to share with family, so I want to do more than just the car stuff. But there's good Mach-E content in there, I promise.

Still hoping to do one of these a month. I might be able to get another one here in May to help make up for the past two missing months. But until then, here we go...

This was such an excellent and relaxing video (no one shouting 'go-go-go'). I also appreciated the stats you gave. I'm still waiting on my MME to show so I appreciate going along on these road trips. And the voice over, editing, and general pace of the video is excellent. Thank you for creating/sharing.

Doug,

I really look forward to your videos. The quality and style are great. I also appreciate that you have the same model as I the one I'm waiting on (except for the interior color) - it reinforces I made the right choice.

Thanks for the video and keep making them

Thanks so much! I'm still trying to do one a month, but might get more frequent as time allows. Coming up are videos on some accessories we got, and a "Part 1" on charging. At the end of June we're taking our first proper road trip, so we'll have a video on that later this summer...hey, they take a while to do! :p

But glad you're enjoying them...I hope you end up loving your Mach-E as much as we do!

Episode 004 is up...this one has some accessories we bought for our Mach-E. Nothing flashy, but might be interesting to some...

Thanks Doug for the video. I liked seeing the rear door handles. Seems like a good investment. I very much appreciated talking about the rear wiper. I had not heard of the wiper really not covering the entire back window. Keep those videos coming!
