Thanks for the confirmation. Now I won't have to enable it to verify that I'm not going crazy.
Hard to go crazy if you are already there. Take it from a dog who is already there. ??

I have a similar situation, though it also applies to the crazy hills here in San Francisco. I setup a second profile for myself that is identical profile in every way except it has 1PD turned off. This works well since I can use the memory buttons on the driver’s door to select profile. Whenever I want 2PD I select that profile.
Thanks for the idea to use profiles.
I suggested that Ford allow the creation of scenarios to save settings for different situations but profiles will help.

I agree it would be nice and hope they do. But in the interim, I find the profiles help.

I think from an engineering/legal perspective the right thing to do is have it behave the same way in forwards and reverse for consistency. Which it does unless I’m not understanding?

Already vehicles behave differently in forward and reverse in respect to speed limitations. So not sure why there would be a legal/engineering constraint.

You already have the option to shut off Auto Hold and 1PD. So what's the problem with having the option to set Auto Hold and 1PD to off when shifting into reverse?

Are you positive that Auto Hold is staying enabled in your car when in reverse? If that's the case, different year cars behave differently in that regard. When testing, make sure to turn off 1PD so you can tell that it really is Auto Hold that's engaging.

I'm pretty sure. But good suggestion to turn off 1PD. I'll let you know.

You are correct sir! It was 1PD that was causing backing up to be difficult. I'd still like 1PD to be disabled when shifting into reverse.

1PD in reverse drove me crazy enough that I switched back to 2PD. I've even gone the opposite extreme and switched to Whisper with the amazing coast. Every once in a while, I'll switch 1PD back on for a week or so, but it is so much easier to be smooth with 2PD. And with blended braking, there is zero efficiency gain to 1PD.

Everyone repeat after me: there is zero efficiency gain with 1PD on. If fact, Porsche's testing showed that Whisper-mode like coast was the most efficient driving mode, and did not include 1PD in the Taycan to mximize efficiency.
