If the 12v is dead, can you still open the tailgate?

We have a portable jumper battery, but was wondering if it mattered. If the car won’t open in any way if the 12v is dead, we won’t be able to get in and get the jumper to open the frunk and jump the car…

Correct. There's no good place to store that in the car. I keep mine in my garage now. It's not very useful.

correct.....

you are at the mercy of either a passerby, or tow truck driver, to 'jump your frunk' FIRST.

at that point, whoever just opened your frunk, can then apply the jumpers to your 12v connection points to get a real charge into your LVB, enough to last you to get to the dealers to fix the cause for your LVB going flat.

you will need enough energy pumped into the LVB to run your 12v system(s) until you get to the Dealership.... NOT just a 'jump'. You'll need a good 20 minutes from a running vehicle with jumper cables to drive very far if the HV-dc/dc-LVB system is not charging the 12v properly.

so.... the small 'jump packs' that may start an ICE vehicle are pretty useless for a BEV
