Has anyone tried a Lithium battery in the MachE? Is there any advantage or disadvantage? Would a Lithium battery last longer than an AGM or flooded battery?
Whatever the possible benefit, it’s not worth it. Just change your battery every 2.5 to 3 years and you will be fine, without creating additional risk.

The charging circuits are different for the lithium batteries. So you could damage the battery or the charging circuits in the car by trying one. It would be best to go with the gel cell like it already has since the charging circuit is designed to handle that battery.
The only option I know of is Ohmmu, and they’re built like junk. Someone on the F150 Lightning subreddit had theirs catch fire.
They’re also 3-4x the price of the Motorcraft AGM. It’s unclear if they will last 3-4x as long. Unlikely.
The cars computer is not designed to charge and operate with the voltage curve of a Li-ion 12V which can potentially end up damaging the battery or the cars electronics or both.
Replacing with an AGM every 3 years is the best option. You can buy 3-4 AGM batteries for the price of a Lithium one, which will serve you 9-12 years at least with no worries of compatibility problems.
Lithium ion batteries cannot be charged in sub-freezing temperatures. The traction battery will warm itself in order to accept a charge, but how would a 12v handle this?
