I have Travelers and it looks like my automotive insurance is going up by a third (150-200 a mos.).

I have a call in to my agent to see what my options are with deductibles, etc.

But I'm also looking at other companies.

Does anyone like their insurance coverage with someone who is currently writing policies in California?

I own a Mache . I live in So. Cal. I have Auto Club, AAA. I drive between 3,000 to 6,000 miles a year. It cost me $1700.00 a year for full coverage. Been very happy with AAA. Give them a call.

We use Connect through Costco in California. I am paying almost $1200/year for my 21 Premium.

Here's a good tip to make yourself more attractive when shopping insurance rates. Basically giving yourself a coupon if you will. Everyone know claim history and tickets can have an impact on your rates. Most people don't understand the limits of liability section on their policy. If you currently have less that 100/300/100 liability limits whenever you shop around you look less responsible to companies you might move to so you end up paying more.

The trick is if you have some low limits on your current policy then move your limits up to at least 100/300 for your liability limits. Typically increasing them higher than 100/300 for shopping reasons has no benefit for most companies considering picking you up. Yes this will cost more on your current policy. After several weeks of this coverage the reports will update making it look like you've have this better coverage the entire policy term you've had with your current company. This is when you go shop. Or find an Insurance broker to do all the shopping for you. Make sure you give them your declarations pages as proof of your new great coverage. That way if reports still show on lexisnexis.com that you have the lower limits they can submit these documents that you are now someone with better coverage.

If you aren't familiar with liability limits the first number 100 means 100k is the most they would pay out per individual you could do damages to in your car or someone you hit while operating per person. The 2nd number 300k is the most they would pay out for an entire claim for all people involved. The last number is how much they would pay for property damage. So with that coverage if you hit someone's 80k F-150 and total it you would have enough to cover the loss.

Also if you ever wanted an umbrella policy most companies require you have at least 250/500k liability limits on your auto policy.

Credit ratings can also have a TREMENDOUS impact on your rates depending on credit. TRAVELERS is definitely one of those.

There's more to it than that... I hope that helps anyone that didn't understand those coverages on their policy.

Consumer Reports rates highest satisfaction with USAA,. Geico, who I was with for about five years - so so. First I tried Costco - results? Far too many unsolicited phone calls. Switched over to USAA, rates about the same overall on my several policies, but far better service. (Geico is OK once a claim is made, but the account service is terrible.)

Insurance rates vary widely, including by company, location, driving history, coverage, ... Michigan used to be the highest cost in the nation, then we went to #2. Supposedly we're back at #1.

We have a top insurance credit score. For a 2022 Mach-E and a 2022 Lightning, my annual policy, net of dividend, adds up to about $3,500...

I did the on-line quote generator with AAA and Progressive and both came in higher.

I miss being able to talk to people. (i.e. agents.)

For me, AAA has always been more expensive by a very large margin. Everyone will be different, you simply can’t compare insurance prices between people because there are way too many factors.

OP just email brokers and use the many insurance comparison sites. It’s the only way to know. For me, Traveler has been the cheapest for cars/home insurance. Foremost for motorcycles and trailers.

That's what I've been doing. Most have come back in the same neighborhood. One, Geico, was significantly cheaper, but they won't do my home owner's insurance, so that adds a level of complexity (and cost) if I were to move.
