For the last month there is a spot that the cruise control drops. It's always the same place on a state highway at the county line, but a quarter mile before the speed limit changes from 55 to 45. At this location it just drops out and the car brakes. I use one pedal and adaptive cruise control. The speed limit sign is still at 55 on the dash. Anybody got any ideas as to why? It doesn't matter if it's me or my wife on this commute. But it's always the same place.

Because of bad map data. It might go back up to 55 before you notice. See this topic about it:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...in-the-middle-of-the-freeway-every-day.27961/

It could also be picking up a 5 MPH speed limit sign by a driveway or something, that will cancel cruise control.
There is no other road sighs or yard signs. It's rural area and if it did see a change, it should show in the display. It does not come back in unless I push the reengage button.

Check the map data at that location. Go here: https://mapcreator.here.com/?l=37.3265,-94.9023,4,normal

And zoom way in (zoom level >16) on the road segment. Click the segment and you can see the attributes. You can also click on the speed limit sign in the lower right (60 in a circle) to show all the speed limits. You will probably see some kind of glitch in the data.

OK I went to the map and it shows it as 55 MPH. Location is NYS 147 with the intersection of North rd. It only does it in the southbound direction. It acts like the brake pedal was tapped or the car saw something ahead that it needed to slow for. But that doesn't normally trip out of cruise control like a brake application. Years ago we had a Forester that the dash went crazy at a certain location with all kinds of alarms and transmission changes at a certain location. Found out that it was a illegal RF transmitter and the FCC shut it down. I don't think Ford would make a car susceptible to EMF problems in this day and age, but I don't know.
