This is true but your context maybe incorrect IF I understand what you're saying. "Wireless app projection" (which must be enabled for wireless AA) requires a direct wifi connection to the car to function. Bluetooth only sends audio. Once more specific data is required, like with using wireless android auto, bluetooth is still used for phone calls but it needs direct wifi connection for the apps to function. This is why turning off wifi breaks WIRELESS android auto. It's not either/or... wireless android auto requires BOTH bluetooth and wifi.What I believe is now true is that Android Auto may initially connect via BT, but then negotiates a wifi hotspot connection with the car for higher bandwidth. I have been troubleshooting my own AA connection and saw wifi on, turned it off, and then lost AA.
