So I posted a while ago about pandora pausing over and over. Now I have a new and different issue. Pandora (and my podcast app) no longer pauses -- instead it "skips" a half second every once in a while (i.e. every 2 min, though it is not at set intervals). And then after 5-10 times of the skipping, all of android auto disconnects.

It then completely reconnects on its own after maybe a 10 second outage.

The only thing that has changed from before and now is I got 3.5.3 + 3.5.3.3. In addition, when Android Auto is skipping, I notice the battery icon and the cell phone bars is missing from the top of the Sync screen (though all those times it's skipped, google maps stays on no problem).

Any ideas what's going on? I already tried rebooting sync as well as my phone. If no one has ideas I'm thinking of reinstalling Android Auto (and re-linking) as a next step, and then finally trying wired Android Auto

If this is only happening with Pandora, I would look there first.

Suggestions:
  • Try a new cable, ideally the cable that came with your phone.
  • Try a different USB port in the Mach-E (ports can get lint and debris in them which can impair performance.)
  • Take a look at Google's Android Auto troubleshooting support article:

    https://support.google.com/androida...-settings-if-youre-connecting-to-a-second-car
  • And finally, within the Android Auto app itself is a troubleshooting feature which doesn't seem to be well-documented, but might be worth a try
