Interior Alarm issue

I've seen plenty of complaints about the function of turning off the interior alarm when asked after turning off the motor doesn't work. A few months ago there was an update to fix this problem, but is still a problem for us.

My question to everyone is, does this function work for anyone? Our has never worked, even after the update.

We have a small dog that we will leave in the car (safely) when going into a store and she sets off the alarm every time we leave her in there.
It's very embarrassing when it's announced over the Walmart speakers that there is an electric car at the charging station with a dog inside and the alarm going off. We've had a few embarrassing moments such as this.

I know there is a alternative was to turn off the interior alarm by going deeper into the menus, but I feel like we shouldn't have to go through all of that when the simpler way to turn it off is right after shutting off the engine, like Ford designed.

My car asks me every time I shut it off, if I want to disable the motion sensors. I'm not sure if that is a setting somewhere or not.

Ford is nice enough to re-enable this after every update.

I had this issue but never tested to see if this really disables the motion sensors. I just leave my phone in the car with the kids now. Less embarrassing so far.

Yes, works fine on my car. You need to have all the latest OTAs or it won't work correctly.

Does OTA stand for Over The Air? If so, we get every updated when Ford puts one out.

It runs for 15 minutes by default. I think you can change it to longer, if not forever.

That is correct. 15 mins by default and you and run 30 mins max. Lately ours will only run 4 or 5 mins.

Leave it on with the key\phone in the car Otherwise the car will call attention to you by honking twice....which is a great feature if a Tesla driver drives your car.

You mean there are people who haven’t disabled the double honk? That was my first “mod”

Yes. Not all Mach-E get all the updates they should, especially 2021s.

My 2023 always asks if I want to turn the alarm off when I turn off the car. I can say yes or no. If I ignore it it leaves the alarm on.

It does. If I forget I see my wife a refugee in the sun or rain when I get back to the car!
