After enduring some recent serious heat in Portland, OR, I agree that the cabin temp is not too bad after sitting in the sun all day, especially if I remember to precondition.

However, has anyone else noticed how hot the sunglasses dropdown case gets? My sunglasses will burn my nose if I put them straight on (I have taken to putting them on the side door handle right in front of the vent for a couple minutes while I drive off). That little compartment must be completely uninsulated and act as an oven from the sun on metal right above it. Thinking about trying a little piece of insulation or something in there.
You're just not used to extreme temps. It doesn't matter where you store your sunglasses when it's 110+. They're gonna need some cooling before you put them on. ?

That looks virtually identical to me.
Yeah, it's very close. It's interesting that the 35 put on the back windows (which includes the factory smoked glass) didn't demonstrably make it even darker.

Now that you've lived with your XPEL XR Prime Plus tint for a year, anything that you would have done differently? How do you like the 35% VLT? Are you happy with the heat rejection? I'm in AZ as well and will be getting my 2022 tinted this week.

I'm very happy with it. The only downside is it is a little difficult to see out the rear window at night through the rear-view mirror.

Thanks, that's helpful. So, would you have gone a bit lighter on the factory-tinted windows (rear doors and hatch) if you did it over again? How is the visibility out the front windows at night?

Maybe the hatch, but I'm not sure what that would look like on the outside. When backing up at night the camera does a really good job so I don't tend to need to look out there often.

Not sure where in Arizona you are, but if you want to PM me, I can see if I can meet up with you so you can see it.

I ended up going with XPEL 30 VLT on the front and 35 rear windows and hatch. Thanks for the advice. I'm happy with the outcome.
