I know there is a lot of hate for Amazon/Alexa on here. But I use it. Happily most of the time. My question is, to the others that do use Alexa from the Mach-E, is yours intermittent? Does it work more than 50% of the time?
About 50% of the time Alexa in my Mach-E does exactly what I ask. The other 50% she tells me “This feature requires a Connected Services Account. Please visit Ford.com for further information about connected services.” The first couple commands when I start the car work fine. “Open the garage,” “turn off the garage lights,” “close the garage,” etc. It’s usually after driving for a bit, that it quits working. When I get home and ask for the porch lights to be turned on or the garage door to be opened, she’ll tell Me that I don’t have connected services. AND this is happening on both my car and my wife’s. A glitch on one car wouldn’t surprise me. But the same behavior from both cars seems like a problem.
I obviously have connected services, or the early commands wouldn’t work. It isn’t location based, as I can turn on my yard lights from the parking lot at work, but then when I get home I can’t open the garage door. Or, I can open the garage door at home but not drop in on my living room to say hi to everyone after I get to work, while I’m in the parking lot.
I called Ford Connected Services on Thursday and got a lovely woman named Lorraine to try and help but she couldn’t find anything about it other than verifying that I do indeed have connected services to both cars. She had me do a Sync Reset and a “Key cycle reset.” Of course, resets or not, I hadn’t been driving around so it was working just fine. Her advice was to contact Amazon for further trouble shooting if it happened again. I’m about to do that, with very little hope that they’ll solve anything, but wanted to know if I’m all alone in this problem?
