I know there is a lot of hate for Amazon/Alexa on here. But I use it. Happily most of the time. My question is, to the others that do use Alexa from the Mach-E, is yours intermittent? Does it work more than 50% of the time?

About 50% of the time Alexa in my Mach-E does exactly what I ask. The other 50% she tells me “This feature requires a Connected Services Account. Please visit Ford.com for further information about connected services.” The first couple commands when I start the car work fine. “Open the garage,” “turn off the garage lights,” “close the garage,” etc. It’s usually after driving for a bit, that it quits working. When I get home and ask for the porch lights to be turned on or the garage door to be opened, she’ll tell Me that I don’t have connected services. AND this is happening on both my car and my wife’s. A glitch on one car wouldn’t surprise me. But the same behavior from both cars seems like a problem.

I obviously have connected services, or the early commands wouldn’t work. It isn’t location based, as I can turn on my yard lights from the parking lot at work, but then when I get home I can’t open the garage door. Or, I can open the garage door at home but not drop in on my living room to say hi to everyone after I get to work, while I’m in the parking lot.

I called Ford Connected Services on Thursday and got a lovely woman named Lorraine to try and help but she couldn’t find anything about it other than verifying that I do indeed have connected services to both cars. She had me do a Sync Reset and a “Key cycle reset.” Of course, resets or not, I hadn’t been driving around so it was working just fine. Her advice was to contact Amazon for further trouble shooting if it happened again. I’m about to do that, with very little hope that they’ll solve anything, but wanted to know if I’m all alone in this problem?

Mine is intermittent but in a different way. She seems to not respond to her name quite frequently. Sometimes I have to say it three times and sometimes she just will not respond at all for that particular trip.

Good luck contacting Amazon. My experience with their support, at least in 2022, is that it's worse than anything I have experienced in my life. They have offshored it.

We ordered two new phones. They were both lost in transit at Amazon facilities. Amazon wouldn't replace them until they were lost for over a week. They would not let me reorder prior to then, and match the price I bought them for, because "we don't price match". Ultimately, we returned the phones unopened. Despite tracking that showed they got them, they refused to process refunds until their 3rd party return processor used the system to complete the process. Over a month later, nothing. They would say I should check with UPS, despite providing links showing them received. I ultimately filed chargebacks, but Amazon's response was "we show the orders as delivered to him", i.e. not the issue. Finally got a supervisor offshore to click on the tracking links and provide the refunds. System still shows they haven't done the refund. Shows this phone received on 10/28/22. UPS shows it received on 9/19. So it took them 39 days to process a return, and 24 days later they still haven't processed a refund (note I already got the money). Of course, Google isn't going to support Google Assistant / Home any better. [end rant]

quick update.
Ford didn’t have any answers.
Amazon had me uninstall and reinstall Alexa. Same result.
Called Ford Back to escalate the case and was told should take my car to the dealer. Now they already remoted into the car and confirmed no codes are showing and no updates are stuck or pending. I asked what they wanted the dealer to do with it, and they couldn’t tell me. Guess I’ll just be ignoring my intermittent Alexa problem until I get fed up enough to disable it entirely.
Another win for Ford Software.

I have an issue where I have Alexa in the car and then Alexa disappears and i have to relogin which is annoying. I stopped using it because i would have to login almost daily.
