Is vehicle plugged in message.

While trying to leave work I was unable to put car in drive because of the “Is vehicle plugged in? Warning. I say no and then I get “service engine soon” and wrench. After several times turning car off and on, I was finally able to have the error message go away and drive home. Has this happened to anyone?

When was the last time you charged prior to receiving the question on the display?

it’s an odd error message for sure because the car should know whether a plug is connected or not.

I was charged it last night and unplugged it and got message. Drove to work and got the same message again about 9 hours later.

If you follow the steps there and it doesn't help, I suggest you make a service appointment with your dealer. To me it sounds like the car is getting conflicting status info about whether or not the charging cable is plugged in. (Remember the car only knows what its sensors tell it, so if there's disagreement between sensors, it needs to ask you for help, hence the question.)
