Nuts! Did Ford give a reason for blocking? Has your reading shed any light? I charged up over the weekend and my Octopus APP failed to control the charge or log the amount. The car seemed to decide for itself when it charged and then charged to 100% in an on and off way.

I was reading this post with interest as I have had issues with intelligent Octopus not charging at certain times….. what I found out yesterday was that for some reason the Mache modem (or TCU as it is also known) can turn off. I am still not sure why but I feel it is something to do with octopus trying to control the car??! Anyway when this happens it then means the car is not able to broadcast location and other stuff….. the upshot is octopus does not work properly.

I found a way to reset the modem without having to rest the whole system but it does involve taking out a couple of fuses…

As I still can’t work out what trips the modem I am still at a loss as to what to do. I will revert to getting my zappi charger to charge at off peak times instead.

I am waiting for my MME Select arriving next week and we have had a Hypervolt 3 charger installed. Is anyone with this combination using Octopus Intelligent and how are you finding it? I understand that if you don't have an Ohme charger, they 'talk' to the car to control the 'smart' charging but in real terms, how does that work and is it straight forward?

would like to know this too.

I have the exact same setup (MME select and Hypervolt 3) but my charger is not installed yet.

Charging my car using 3 pin for now cause I'm currently on Octopus Tracker so it's not too expensive.

It’s a hot topic and way too overcomplicated to go into in detail - let’s just say that Ford and Octopus are ironing out some niggles (putting it lightly!)

Until those issues are sorted it’s not going to end well if you try and use your FordPass account on the Octopus app - so best to not do that.

Use the settings in the car or on your charger app to set charge windows and maximum charge levels until it all gets sorted.

I’m sure some other forum members will gladly explain the issues at play ?

An update….i received an email from Octopus asking for the email I use for my ford pass account….apparently they will pass this onto ford to ensure ford will allow octopus app to work with the car! So feels like a step in the right direction.

Maybe. They might also want it to plug into their backend software where the problem is being encountered.

I truly hope Ford and Octopus are working together over there to solve this. I am not aware of Ford resolving issues with Recurrent or the various energy providers on this side of the pond, despite this issue going on for over a year.

I genuinely hope so for all of you that have had problems with locked accounts etc.

Interestingly I never got the email from Octopus inviting me to supply my details - even though I had used my account to smart charge in the past.

I guess I’ll follow the advice in the Ford Community forum and ask Ford CRC to have my account added to the whitelist just in case I have a situation where my Ohme Pro is out of action.

If they get this sorted we’ll have nothing left to bitch about ?

Car smart charged ok overnight and FP account still good. Here's hoping this is the pattern of things to come

I have a Hypervolt 2, with OI-go, tho had all the same issues with FP-lockout / octopus smart-charge and after several attempts, over the last year, to depend on Octupus, I gave up! I have the 7.5p off-peak tariff, which kicks in at 23:30 til 05:30 and my Hypervolt is scheduled to charge then.
