Issues with PAAK and Bluetooth since sync 4 release

Hey everyone. Is anyone having problems with PAAK and the Bluetooth stack ever since the last sync release? It seems there are now 2 Bluetooth devices that the car makes available. One for general connectivity for things like car play I think. Mine is called “20305 Mach E” and another one that I can customize the name for inside the car’s panel settings. I think the latter actually is used for PAAK (just a hypothesis at this point) because every time I get in the car I notice that that second Bluetooth is not available and bluetooth is turned off in the car settings. I can turn it back on and it works fine until I turn the car off and on again.
I have tried uninstalling the FordPass app, removing my phone from the car, re-adding my phone as a key, and nothing seems to be fixing it. I’m guessing at this point that I just need to wait for the next over the air update.

There have always been two Bluetooth connections since PaaK has its own. If you use CarPlay, it’s normal for Bluetooth in the car to appear as disabled.

Thanks for clarifying although it doesn’t help with the root of my issue that ever since sync 4 I haven’t been able to use my phone as a key. No one else having this issue?

the strange thing is that I can open the app and use the buttons In app to unlock the car, remote start. But to actually start I need to use a passcode or the key fob. I’ve tried removing my phone entirely and reregistering it to no avail. Since this update when I walk up to the car the mustang lights no longer project from the mirrors. And strangest of all, even with the key fob, I need to open A passenger door first before the driver door will open. If I try to open the driver door nothing happens.

Well I didn’t do anything but my phone started working as a key again this morning. Still can’t get into the driver door without first opening the back door.

I had the same issue and it started working again today. I have a android so I turned off battery optimization for the first time to see if that would help and also restarted my phone. Not sure which one fixed it but give those a try if you are still having problems

Well I didn’t do anything but my phone started working as a key again this morning. Still can’t get into the driver door without first opening the back door.

I used to have that issue with my car the only way to open driver door is to open passenger door first. here is the fix that worked for me and other in here. Go in the frunk remove the panels on the driver side access the battery remove the neg terminal for a minute or two and attach it again and that fixes the problem.
