My new Ford mustang 2023 model has a similar problem here in Uk .. BlueCruise works fine but no automatic lane change feature .. I have used BlueCruise on Uk motorways and Spanish roads - just great but cannot find anything about automatic lane change. Spoke to Ford who requested I speak to the dealership . Dealership said yes it should have it but cannot do anything g as there is no fault on the car .. come on Ford what’s going on ?

Well, here is what I can tell you assuming your car came with the appropriate hardware. First check the settings are enabled under the Adaptive Cruise control module, I think its "Lane Change Assist" and I think there is one other for in-lane repositioning. If that is present and enabled chances are high there is a malfunction. Ultimately I needed a new IPMA which resolved some but not all error codes. Then when lane change assist still wasn't working a faulty SOD module was replaced and after that the system works perfectly.

Not that I distrust the report that there are no faults but I would suggest you buy a cheap ODBII reader and scan yourself after a bluecruise session. I saw pretty clearly U2008:08:xx and U3000:49-2F fails on the IPMA module and then later after replacement U3000:49-AF on the SODCMD. My 2-cents is that the lane change assist links a high number of systems around the vehicle, any one of them having intermittent fails is enough to prevent operation on this feature with no discernable error unless you scan for it. Its definitely worth fighting for, the inline repositioning feature is really a good safety feature to have enabled, it makes passing trucks much less nerve racking. Good luck!
